A Lansing institution is closing its doors after 51 years.
A sign posted on The Colonial Bar and Grille doesn't list a reason, it just thanks customers for their "patronage and friendship" and says, "we have enjoyed being a part of your lives."
It opened as The Cotton Club at the corner of what's now Martin Luther King and Holmes in 1965.
The name was quickly changed to The Colonial.
