People are still blown away by the warm weather this late in November. Including Amber Minotti, who is in Lansing for the first time interviewing for a job.
"I was hoping to experience the cold weather that I've been hearing all about," smiles Minotti. "Most of my friends and family told me 'isn't it cold up there?' when I was considering moving from Pennsylvania."
She might not have to wait to experience that cold as there's a chance of snow this weekend. Fortunately, Minotti thinks it will give her a good idea of what to expect if she moves to mid-Michigan.
"I would like to experience what it's like when it's cold here, though," claims Minotti, "but hopefully it doesn't get too brutally cold. Cause to go from sweating to freezing cold and stepping through snow tomorrow would be quite interesting."
People say they are enjoying the warm weather and they're not ready for the transition from short sleeves to jacket.
"Hopefully it'll just, you know, stay like this, for a little bit longer, maybe another week hopefully," laughs Keven Felder.
Felder spends almost every day outside playing his guitar on the streets. But he says the cold makes it a lot harder:
"I won't be out here as long in the winter, you know, it'll probably be a couple hours, that's about it and then I've gotta call it a day."
But until that cold weather hits, people like Felder will soak it in as much as they can.
The impending snow could make the roads and overpasses slippery this weekend. The state police recommend winterizing your car right away. That means snow tires, new windshield wipers, and checking your antifreeze. Also give yourself more space to brake. Icy conditions can happen at 40 degrees or less, so even if it's not snowing, the roads can still be slippery.
