Lansing police have surrounded a house near the corner of Stillwell Avenue and Sumpter Street on the city's southwest side.

A person renting a home on the 4400 block of Stillwell came home to find a door kicked in and a man with a gun standing inside. The renter left and called the police.

A Lansing police spokesman says officers were on the scene within five minutes but they do not know if the armed man is still inside.

Officers set up a perimeter and are telling anyone inside to come out. A police tactical team has been called to the scene.

FOX 47 News has a crew near the standoff and will bring you updated as soon as new information is available.
