The Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office has filed charges of failing to yield to a handicapped pedestrian in a crosswalk against a Lansing police officer.
Charles Funk is a 47-year old Meridian Township resident, and a Lansing police officer. He was on duty when the alleged offense occurred.
An independent investigation by Michigan State Police found evidence that the wheelchair was struck by Officer Funk’s patrol car.
A pre-trial conference in this matter has been scheduled for Sept. 20, at 9:30 a.m., before Judge Alderson in the 54-A District Court.
