Lansing police are investigating vandalism that happened early this morning at a senior housing complex in downtown Lansing.

Residents at The Porter Apartments on Townsend Street rushed from their homes, believing there was a fire. But it was a false alarm. Lansing police told FOX 47 News, somebody pulled the fire alarm, and discharged the fire extinguisher.

As residents evacuated, police and firefighters arrived on scene to investigate. Police say there was minor damage to the building. Someone smashed the front door to the lobby. Surveillance cameras on the first floor were also ripped from the ceiling.

None of the residents were hurt. Police are trying to find the people who did this.
