Lansing Police hosted "Try-Athlon" event Thursday

LANSING, Mich. — Lansing Police G.R.E.A.T. and Police Athletic League (P.A.L.) hosted a "Try-Athlon" event Thursday.

Lansing Police G.R.E.A.T. hosted "Try-Athlon" Thursday. (Source: WILX 2019).The event was held in partnership with Men Making a Difference, Boys and Girls Club and Lansing Parks and Recreation.

Kids who attended the event got to learn lacrosse, an introductory Rugby clinic by the MSU Rugby team, soccer by PAL and Capital Area Soccer League (CASL) and resources from the Lansing Ignite FC soccer.

"We hope that this is a good, healthy outlet for them by using athletics," Sgt. Eric Pratle, of the Lansing Police, said.

Kids who participated in the event are in summer camps with Lansing Parks and Recreation, The Lansing Boys and Girls Club and the Police Athletic League.

The event was held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Risdale Field at Walker Stadium located at the 4300 block of Pleasant Grove Road in Lansing.
