Lansing police chief announces retirement

LANSING, Mich. — On the morning of July 9, Lansing Police Chief Mike Yankowski sent a letter to everyone at the LPD announcing his retirement.

He had been with the force since October 1994, and police chief for the past 6 years.

He thanked the men and women of the Lansing P.D. for their devotion and service to the Capital City and for keeping this community safe.

He said it has been an honor to stand with them.
