The owner of a Lansing party bus company is accused of trying to escape police custody.
Court documents show Christopher Staggs was arraigned Tuesday, on charges of "escape while awaiting a court hearing" on June 27th.
A jury found him guilty last month on a misdemeanor charge of not having insurance on a motor vehicle.
Staggs first came under fire in October of last year when a group of MSU students rented two buses from him for a trip to an apple orchard.
The students were stranded after police stopped the buses, and found they were not insured.
Staggs is due back in court on the new charge next week.
