Lansing mayoral candidates answer community questions

Posted

Paula and Jean are undecided on who they want to be the next leader of Lansing.

Tonight they got a chance to learn who the candidates are.

"I have both a city perspective and I'm at large and a regional perspective," candidate Judi Brown Clarke

What they stand for.

"Lansing was once a beautiful city, now we have a shadow of it," candidate Michael Gillenkirk said.

And answers to tough questions.

"We have to go by a balanced budget," candidate Harold Leeman said.

"First you have to identify the problem, then you have to start looking at solutions," candidate Andy Schor said.

Paula wants a candidate that will hear her voice.

Jean wants one with experience, who cares about family.

So... The big question is... Did tonight's forum help them figure out who to vote for?

"There were some good answers and there were some crazy answers," Paula said.

"I think it helps me know where the strengths are in the candidates," Jean said.

Jean says she still needs more research before she makes up her mind, but the forum helped.

As for Paula... She's still undecided... But...

"Let me put it like this, it eliminated some," Paula said.
