Mayor Virg Bernero will not be running another term after 12 years in office. While he truly loves serving as mayor, he says it's time to put family first.
With 10 months left during his current term, there are still some things he'd like to see, mainly developing one of Lansing's prominent buildings - the old BWL Eckert Power Station.
"There's always more to do, and whether I choose now to step away from public office, or four years from now, there will be things left undone....There are some new projects we haven't announced yet. There are people looking at Lansing. Lansing is on the move," Bernero said.
He is not endorsing anyone yet. He says it's too early.
