Lansing Mayor Andy Schor is scheduled to announce who the city's new fire chief will be.
The mayor is holding a press conference to appoint the new fire chief at Fire Station #1 on East Shiawassee Street in Lansing at 11:30 a.m. Monday.
David Purchase has been interim fire chief since last July.
Randy Talifarro resigned from the position last May so he could remain the fire chief for the East Lansing Fire Department.
