The Mayor of Lansing is moving forward with the idea of remodeling or moving city hall.
Today, Mayor Virg Bernero will issue a Request for Qualifications and Proposals (RQP).
This will begin a process where real estate developers can come forward with proposals to remodel city hall, remodel another structure, or build at a new site. The RQP will be open nationally. CBRE Martin will be handling distribution and responses.
A spokesperson for the mayor's office says that they expect to receive proposals by mid-August.
If a deal comes together, a development agreement would have to be approved by City Council.
