Thursday a Lansing man sits in a South Carolina jail, charged with sexually assaulting a child younger than 11.
According to Oconee County Sherrif's Office in South Carolina. 41-year old Brian Keith Collins has been charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor---in the first degree.
According to the Sheriff, Collins sexually assaulted a young child between the years of 2007 and 2008 and again in 2011.
But it wasn't until last month on February 25, a family member of the alleged victim told deputies about the assaults which then started an investigation. Sheriff deputies say they believe just the one child is involved and say there is enough evidence to prove it.
During the investigation, deputies found out that Collins currently lives in Lansing. It was then, Lansing police took him into custody and extradited him back to South Carolina to face the charges.
Lansing police told FOX 47 Collins has no criminal history with them nor has there been any complaints.
