LANSING, Mich. — A Lansing man will be sentenced in court Wednesday morning.
Yenier Conde is accused of abusing his five children. He plead no contest to two counts of second-degree child abuse in Ingham County.
In 2018, Conde and his then wife, Sarah Conde, were charged after police say they locked their children in a dark room that police have described as a dungeon.
That alleged abuse was said to have happened over several years dating all the way back to 2009 when CPS first investigated claims of improper supervision and physical neglect.
The reported the home was filthy-- soiled diapers throughout the hallway, dog feces throughout the home.
The children ranged in age from 6 to 11 years old, and investigators said they had no access to a toilet and did not have food or water in the room.
Sarah was sentenced back in July and will serve a minimum of three years with a maximum of 120 months behind bars.
Judge Canady III said she is not allowed to have any kind of contact with her children.
Conde faces up to 10 years behind bars.
