Michigan's first pay-by-energy electric car charging station was installed in Lansing this week.
According to MLive.com, the new charging station is located at 1790 W. Saginaw Highway, outside the Michigan Agency for Energy and Michigan Public Service Commission.
The device is capable of charging two vehicles at a time and works differently than other electric vehicle chargers across the state.
Rather than charging users by an hourly rate, this charger will bill the user based on how much energy they use.
According to MLive.com, the rate for the new charging station is $0.15 per kilowatt hour.
