On Monday the City of Lansing is opening its doors a week early in anticipation for an influx of absentee voters.
The South Washington elections unit on South Washington opened at 8 a.m. on October 1.
It usually opens 30 days before any election but the city clerk is opening the doors earlier this year.
Walk-in absentee voting as well as voter registration, is available there.
The deadline to register to vote is in one week, on October 9.
