LANSING, Mich. — LCC has received the ranking of “gold status” from the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA). They provide support, care, advocacy and service to veterans and their families.
Many veterans chose to return to school once they leave the military, and the MVAA recognizes colleges that go above and beyond to help these students. They have seven sections of veteran-friendly school program criteria, and if a school offers six or more of them they receive the most elite ranking of “gold status.”
“The Office of Veteran and Military Affairs at Lansing Community College takes great pride in the fact that we have been selected as a Gold-Level Veteran Friendly college since 2015. We try our best to ensure the success of all military connected students that come through our office. We offer as many services as we can to assist them while they are enrolled at LCC, and our office is very fortunate to have the support from higher leadership at the college which allows us to continue our mission of creating successful college students. We look forward to the continuing opportunity to achieve such a high status through the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency,” said Andrew Cosgrove, LCC Director, Office of Military and Veteran Affairs.
This fifth consecutive recognition from the MVAA serves as further validation of LCC’s commitment to those who have served us in the armed forces. We consider it a privilege to assist our heroes and their families.
