LANSING, Mich. — LCC will celebrate Transgender Awareness Week Nov. 13-19 to help raise the visibility of transgender and gender-nonconforming people, and address the issues this community faces.

Activities for the week are virtual and will include Trans Trivia, viewing of the movie Transformer by Michael Del Monte followed by discussion, and Hot Topics in the Transmosphere, an engaging, community-wide discussion on a variety of issues related to the Trans community like healthcare, civil rights, safety, economics and more. This discussion will be hosted by Layne Ingram, LCC special projects coordinator and Trans Activist.

The week-long celebration culminates on Transgender Day of Remembrance Friday, Nov. 20 with a moment of silence at 11:20 a.m. to remember the victims of transphobic violence.
