LANSING, Mich. — LCC joins colleges and organizations around the nation in the commemoration of June as Pride Month. We are proud to honor and recognize the impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer individuals and their allies have had on history.
Activities are planned throughout the month to celebrate the diversity, triumphs and contributions of the LGBTQ community.
A screening and discussion of “Coming Out: A 50 Year History” will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, in the Centre for Engaged Inclusion located on the 2nd floor in the Gannon Building on the Downtown Campus - 411 North Grand Avenue, Lansing. There will be an Out & Proud Panel and Social 3 p.m. Monday, June 24 in the Grand River Room located on the 1st floor of the Gannon Building. These events are open to the public.
Pride Month is celebrated each June to commemorate the Stonewall Riots of 1969 in New York City’s Manhattan borough. In recognition of the struggles, victories and ongoing fight for LGBTQ equality worldwide we seek to educate and create awareness while sharing values of love and acceptance.
