The Lansing City Council wants to crack down on illegal gambling.
The council is expected to vote Monday on an ordinance that would set civil and criminal penalties for gambling.
This legislation would prohibit games that are played for money, like bingo -- card games -- and computer based games.
Gambling businesses that already have a license with the state would not be affected.
