LANSING, Mich. — A development project is in the works for downtown Lansing at their meeting on Monday night.

Council members decided to send the 500 block project plan to the development and planning committee.

That means public hearings on the project will be held.

The plan calls for a renovation of the former Lake Trust Credit Union building. It also adds a new building for apartments, offices and commercial space.

The project is a $33 million mixed-use development project.

A final vote on the project could happen in December.

Construction of the new mixed-use building would be slated to begin next September.

The work for that could potentially be finished by the spring of 2022.
