The Lansing City Council is expected to decide the fate of an ordinance aimed at cracking down on illegal gambling Monday.
The ordinance would set civil and criminal penalties for gambling, prohibiting games that are played for money like bingo and card games.
Gambling businesses that already have a license with the state would not be affected.
City council members are scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Monday.
