Another utility company is warning customers about a phone scam.
The Lansing Board of Water and Light says its received several reports from people who got a call saying they'd lose their service if they didn't pay up over the phone with a pre-paid debit card, a credit car or wire transfer.
The call starts with an automated message the scammers recorded from the BWL. It asks customers to connect to a person and make an immediate payment.
The BWL says it will never ask for money over the phone.
If you get a call like this, call police.
