For the second time in less than a week, some Jackson County residents are getting a 'busy signal' when calling 911 from a landline phone.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Office says the latest outage is impacting people in Rives Township. The department says the issue lies with a local phone carrier in the area, and not the 911 dispatch center. The company is working to fix the problem.
It is not clear at this point whether the issue is affecting all Rives Township landline phone numbers, or just people in a certain area. Cell phones are not impacted.
