A 14-foot snowman is catching the attention of people around Coopersville.

After the area was covered in snow over the weekend, a group of people worked together to build the giant in a yard on Randall Street.

Joe and Lindsay Fedewa said once they saw how well the snow was packing, they had to build it.

“My husband woke up Saturday moringa and started calling all his friends, and my son got out here and they started building this snowman because it was such good packing snow and we haven’t gotten much snow this year,” Lindsay Fedewa said.

The base is made of a trash can and plywood, the eyes were created using poster board with dowels glued to the back, and an end to a shovel made the nose.

The couple says a lot of people have stopped when driving by to take a picture of the snowman and someone even got out and asked how it was made.

Next year, they hope to go even bigger.

“We’re gonna go for 18 feet next year,” Lindsay Fedewa said.
