Bell's Brewery founder appointed to state council

The founder of Bell’s Brewery has been appointed to the Michigan Craft Beverage Council by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

Larry Bell will serve on the council through Sept. 30, the end of the term for the man he is replacing.

The council awards grants for research into winemaking, hops, beer and spirits, conducts market surveys and analysis and offers other programs to encourage the agriculture things connected with Michigan’s craft beverage industry.

Michigan’s Craft Beverage Council was created to replace the Grape and Wine Industry Council. it is funded entirely by liquor license fees.
