Dive teams have suspended the search for a missing Olivet man who police say fell into the river late Monday night.< /span>
Crews have spent the last three days searching the area where the Kalamazoo and Battle creek rivers meet with no luck.
We're told the 19-year-old went into the river near Hamblin Avenue and Kendall Street late Monday night when trying to retrieve a friend's purse that had fallen in the water and never resurfaced.
Search teams say the strong current made it difficult for them to search< /span> . Officials say they plan to still monitor the river until his body can be recovered.
