Kohl's will close 18 of its stores across the U.S. this summer.
On a conference call with investors today, the retailer's CEO acknowledged the planned store closures represent what's likely the first time in the company's 52-year history as a department store that it's closing multiple stores at a time.
Meanwhile, kohl's plans to pilot smaller format stores in 7 U.S. markets and enter the outlet space with 12 Fila stores.
