Amber Kohls, the woman accused of brutally murdering a homeless man in Lansing, has pleaded guilty.
Kohls pleaded guilty but mentally ill to second-degree murder for the killing of John Darnell Jr. in October 2017.
According to a sentencing agreement, the prosecutor's office agrees not to seek a sentence that's above the guidelines for that charge.
Kohls is expected to be sentenced on Nov. 28.
