A man who stabbed a teenager to death in Lansing last year, could be out of prison in 3.5 years.
A judge sentenced Robert Smith to between 40 months and 15 years on Wednesday.
Smith was convicted of manslaughter and a weapons charge in December.
He stabbed 16-year-old Nathan Jackson during an argument in April of 2016.
Jackson's family does not think the sentence is long enough.
