Hundreds of business-minded students from across mid-Michigan where in town Tuesday competing for cash at the Lansing Center.

The Lansing Economic Area Partnership hosted it's fifth annual, Youth Startup Expo.

High School and Middle School students presented their business ideas for the chance at more than $10,000 in prize money.

Students told FOX 47 they're using the competition to network with others and improve on their ideas.

Daniel Ballagh, a student entrepreneur from Stockbridge, said, "Being here you get a really good chance to meet people, you get a lot of positive feedback on things you might be able to change and do to make it better. Finalize this, work out the final kinks."

More than 100 teams took part in the competition.
