Kids aren't getting treated for high blood pressure

Many children are walking into Doctor's offices with high blood pressure and walking out without proper treatment.

Researchers at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia analyzed the health records of 400,000 kids with abnormal blood pressure readings.

Less than a quarter of those with high blood pressure at multiple Doctor's visits had been diagnosed.

Researchers say just 6-percent were on medication for the disease.

Uncontrolled hypertension in childhood can increase the risk for heart disease.
