Day two of testimony included the playing of police audio and video recordings in the death investigation of Mary Welch. Her parents, Seth and Tatiana Welch, are accused of starving her to death. They're charged with murder and child and abuse.

During an interrogation video, detectives seemed offended by Seth Welch's nonchalance towards 10-month-old Mary's death. Welch said 'natural selection' is a part of life.

Today, the prosecution focused on Welch's decision not to get his daughter medical help despite being just 8 pounds, the size of a newborn, at the time of her death.

Welch explained to investigators that Mary was skinny from the day she was born and said he didn't trust medical professionals. So he and his wife chose not to get her medical care.

When asked if he thought he did anything wrong, Welch replied, "Well, like I said, there's certainly some things I would have done differently in hindsight. Nothing is keeping me up at night."

Police say Mary was unattended for at least 19 hours. The defense says the Welch family was struggling to make ends meet and were overwhelmed. Welch faces life in prison if convicted.

Testimony is expected to resume Friday morning.
