Kalamazoo teen shooting survivor is back in the hospital

Posted

Another setback for the Battle Creek teenager who survived a shooting in Kalamazoo earlier this year.

According to a post on Abbie Kopf's Facebook page, the 14-year old is back in the hospital, battling an infection.

This comes on the heels of a surgery Abbie had in June when a plate was installed in her skull had to be removed after an infection in some of her stitches.

Abbie was shot in the head on Feburary 20th. She and Tiana Carruthers are the sole two survivors of a shooting spree.

Abbie's family says this summer has been a tough one because Abbie hasn't been able to do much without a protective skull. She will not be going to school this fall, the teen instead will be home schooled as she continues to recover.
