LANSING, Mich. — The trails will be back open soon!

On Tuesday, July 23, a ribbon-cutting took place for the Northern Tier Trail Bridges in East Lansing.

Millage funds in the amount of $1,526,089 were made possible to the City of East Lansing to repair and replace the six bridges and make improvements along the trail.

"We would like to thank Ingham County and East Lansing voters for their support of this important project, which has resulted in significant infrastructure and accessibility improvements along the Northern Tier Trail," said East Lansing Parks, Recreation & Arts Director Tim McCaffrey.

The ribbon-cutting on Tuesday was at the Kalamazoo Street bridge.

Repairs and improvements such as repaired decking, support improvements, and painting were performed prior to the ribbon-cutting.

The final bridge at Hagadorn Road will see its ribbon cutting take place on July 30 at 6:30 PM.
