DETROIT, Mich. — A jury is scheduled to pick back up deliberations Wednesday in the murder trial for a former state trooper.
Mark Bessner is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 15-year old Damon Grimes.
Bessner is accused of firing his stun gun out of the window of his moving patrol car in August 2017 when the teen refused to stop on his ATV.
The teen died from his injuries after crashing into a parked truck.
Bessner says he thought Grimes was reaching for a gun.
