A Jackson County teenager has been found guilty of murdering his brother.
A jury decided 17-year-old Riley Spitler was guilty of second-degree murder Thursday in the shooting death of his brother Patrick Spitler. Patrick was 20-years-old at the time of he shooting.
Riley Spitler was also found guilty of two counts fo felony firearm use and possession with intent to deliver marijuana.
The trial began January 11th.
The Jury began deliberations late Tuesday afternoon, and reached their verdict Thursday.
Spitler shot his brother in their home in Blackman Township, December 6, 2014.
Spitler claimed the shooting was an accident. That the brothers were playing a game with the guns.
The prosecution showed Riley as being involved with guns and marijuana, and had pulled a gun on his brother prior to the shooting.
Spitler faces up to life in prison or any term of years the judge decides when he is sentenced on March 2nd.
