Judge Rosemarie Aquilina of Ingham County Circuit Court has recused herself from further participation in the case against former Ingham County Prosecuting Attorney Stuart Dunnings III.
Dunnings' lawyers said in court Wednesday that the courts and Judge Aquilina are too close to the case, because they've worked in the same building for years, to make a judgement. Other circuit courts in Ingham County had already done so.
His sentencing was first scheduled for September 21 in front of Judge Aquilina. After motioning not to move forward with this case, Judge Aquilina rescheduled the case for Thursday, November 10 at 8:30 a.m.
At this time a new judge has not been appointed to hear the case.
