Dewitt native and sexual assault survivor Jordyn Wieber will speak about women and survivor empowerment at MSU on Thursday.

The event is set for 7 p.m at the Pasant Theatre. It is only open to the MSU Community, but anyone can submit questions to Wieber for the Q & A portion of the talk. Questions can be submitted anonymously using the link attached to this article.

Wieber was one of hundreds of women who read impact statements during Larry Nassar's sentencing hearings. She says the abuse started when she tore her hamstring at age 14, and continued when Wieber and her 'Fierce Five' team members competed in the 2012 Olympic games in London.

Nassar was sentenced 40-175 years in prison on sexual assault charges in Ingham and Eaton Counties. He is currently serving a 60 year federal prison sentence for possessing child pornography.
