Easter spending is expected to be the second highest on record this year.. But where will consumers shop?
According to the National Retail Federation, 59% of consumers will shop at discount stores for their Easter gifts, while 46% will visit department stores.
In preparing for Easter, 28% of Americans will make on-line purchases, 25% will shop at a specialty store, and 25% will go to a local store.
Among smartphone users, 30% will do price comparisons and research items on their devices, while 19% will use their devices to make a purchase.
Consumers will celebrate the holiday in a variety of ways..
Many will visit family and friends, about 60%.
And 35% of consumers will participate in an Easter egg hunt.
But what about jelly beans? The sweet, chewy candies are an Easter staple.
It's estimated that Americans consume nearly 16-billion jelly beans on Easter.
