The father of the Battle Creek man injured in Tuesday's attacks is speaking out about his son Sebastien Belin.
He was at the airport when the bombs went off.
Sebastien played basketball for Oakland University in the late 90s. His father says he spoke to Sebastien yesterday.
Jean Bellin told CNN his son was so close to one of the bombs that the blast actually lifted him off the ground.
"All I know is that the force of the blast where he was, was sufficient to throw him up in the air and he landed back and he got shrapnel in his left leg and his right hip."
The father found out about his son when a picture of Sebastien, injured at the airport started circulating the Belgian press.
He says his son is doing well despite losing a lot of blood.
Sebastian had surgery Tuesday and was expected to under-go another operation on Wednesday.
