A city in Virginia is saying trick or treating over the age of 12 could result in jail time.
The city of Chesapeake has a code set in place that puts a limit on who can ask for candy. It says people over the age of 12 quote "shall be guilty of a misdemeanor" if they "engage in the activity commonly known as 'trick-or-treat.
" Trick-or-treaters could face fines between $25 and $100 or "confinement in jail" for less than six months. In some cases, the city says people could face a fine and jail time.
