The city of Jackson will try for the second time this month to move forward on a medical marijuana ordinance.

News 10 reported last week that council members deadlocked on the ordinance with a 3-to-3 vote.

The seventh vote, Mayor Derek Dobies, was not at last week's meeting.

He's called for a special meeting next Tuesday to discuss the ordinance, which would permit, license and regulate medical marijuana businesses.

They'll also discuss opting in the new recreational marijuana act passed by voters earlier this month.

The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
