Jackson teenager hospitalized in shooting

JACKSON, Mich. — On Monday, police are reporting that the victim that was shot at, was dropped off at the hospital in a silver Chrysler vehicle.

The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. on Friday, July 12 at the intersection of High Street and Greenwood Avenue.

Jackson police said someone in another vehicle opened fire on a car at the intersection.

Witnesses reported that a silver Chrysler was seen taking off from that area at a high rate of speed. That same vehicle was later seen at the hospital.

The gunshot victim, 16, was dropped off at Henry Ford Allegiance Health with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Police believe the suspect and victim knew each other and the shooting was not random.
