Officers responded to a local grocery store for a report of a man approaching the customer service counter, producing a black handgun and demanding money.
The armed robbery happened about 10:36 p.m. Wednesday at the Kroger located at 1100 W. Argyle St.
Jackson Police Sgt. Adam Williams said the suspect fled the area on a BMX-style bicycle.
The suspect is described as being a white male around 30 years old, 5'9" and 150 pounds. He was wearing a tan coat with a black hooded sweatshirt and a dark ball cap.
Jackson police are continuing the investigation, and anyone with any information can contact the department at 517-768-8721.
