After 27 years on the force, police chief Matt Heins is retiring from the Jackson Police Department. Heins joined the department in 1989 and has been in charge of the department since 2007. A celebration was held in his honor at the city council chambers Wednesday afternoon. When looking back on his time at the department, chief Heins says he enjoyed his experience.
