Jackson man sentenced for CSC where prosecutors say he strangled and duct-taped the victim

LANSING, Mich. — Percy Oliver was sentenced on January 22, 2020 for CSC in the first degree.

Oliver, born June 12, 1977, was sentenced on the following:
- 15-30 years in the Department of Corrections for Criminal Sexual Conduct in the First Degree
- 4-15 years for Unlawful Imprisonment
- 4-10 years for Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm Less than Murder by Strangulation.

The assault was reported on August 27, 2018.

After further investigation, it was discovered that the defendant struck the victim from behind, strangled her and duct-taped her before sexually assaulting her, according to the office.

He was found guilty of criminal sexual conduct among the other charges on Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, according to the Jackson Office of the Prosecuting Attorney.

He was sentenced by Judge John G. McBain in Jackson.

“We are pleased with Judge McBain’s sentence,” said Prosecutor Jerry Jarzynka.
