JACKSON, Mich. — A new Popeyes restaurant is coming to Jackson.

The state is going to help the city clean up an old gas station and turn it into a Popeyes Chicken.

Jackson is getting a $130,000 grant from the Department of Environmental Quality for the project.

The soil and groundwater at the site, located on West Avenue, were contaminated by gasoline leaking from an underground tank.

The grant will pay for barriers, a ventilation system and tearing down what's left of the gas station.
