JACKSON, Mich. — The Summit Jackson Firefighters Local 1306 are kicking off their 65th annual Fill the Boot campaign in an effort to fight muscular dystrophy.
The Fill the Boot campaign starts Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 11 a.m. at the intersection of W. Michigan and Brown St.
Firefighters will greet drivers on the streets, asking them to make a donation to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association's treatment and cure research.
Donations will also help empower local kids by sending them to the MDA Summer Camp at Sherman Lakes YMCA Camp at no cost.
The department will also be filling the boot on Thursday, Oct. 10 and Friday, Oct. 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
