A family of five is displaced after their home was destroyed in a fire.
The Jackson Fire Department was called to the house in the 200 block of E. High Street around 1:30 Thursday afternoon.
Authorities say the fire started in the kitchen area, and the family was able to make it out unharmed. The exact cause has not been determined, but fire officials say it is not suspicious.
Firefighters say the family does not have insurance. They are being assisted by the Red Cross.
